Elizabeth A Roosa, (Betsy) a lifetime resident of Dutchess County, graduated from Vassar College in 1981 and Albany Law School of Union University in 1984. Elizabeth has over 37 years in a broad range of general practice, practicing primarily in the fields of wills, trusts and estates, residential and commercial real estate, corporate and business practice. Elizabeth has handled acquisitions, sales and financing of residential, commercial and industrial development throughout the tri-state area, representing individuals, corporations, developers and lenders. Her practice ranges from a residential purchase, finance or sale to apartment complexes, shopping centers, hotels and industrial development. She has handled sales, acquisitions and tax structuring for many multi-million dollar transactions. Elizabeth is a former member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Historic Preservation Board and former President of Vassar College Class of 1981. She has rendered legal services to numerous charitable, religious and civic organizations. Elizabeth is an avid scuba diver and sailor. She is a lifetime member of the Aquatic Explorers Scuba Club and the New Hamburg Yacht Club as well as a member of Chelsea Yacht Club. She is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York, US District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the US Supreme Court. She is a member of the New York State and Dutchess County Bar Associations.
Paralegal/Legal Assistant
We are very excited to have Joleen join our team! She has 20+ years of experience in the legal field, much of it in the areas of Real Estate and Estates. She is the voice on the other end of the phone when you call us.
Office Mgr/IT Support
After retiring from IBM after 39 years Mike continues his IT support for the office and has assumed the role of Office Manager. He also has been filling in with legal assistant skills as needed. He is Betsy's scuba dive buddy and also is an avid skier and sailor.

Benjamin P Roosa Jr (1931-2019), a lifetime resident of Dutchess County, graduated from Columbia University in 1953 and Albany Law School of Union University in 1957. Ben had a varied general practice, practicing primarily in the fields of will, trusts and estates, elder law and estate planning. Ben also handled residential real estate, landlord/tenant, tax, corporate and business practice. Ben was a former Town attorney for the Town of East Fishkill NY (1958-1965), County Representative for the Town of East Fishkill (1972) and NYS Assemblyman for the 100th District (1973-1976). Ben was an active member of the community, volunteering and rendering services to many charitable, religious and civic organizations. He was admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York. He was a member of the New York State and Dutchess County Bar Associations.
Founder (deceased)
Benjamin P Roosa (1903-1971), opened the law office on Main Street in Beacon NY in 1927 at our present location. Judge Roosa was born in Beacon and graduated from Columbia University in 1925 and earned his law degree from Columbia University in 1927. Ben was city Judge in the City of Beacon from 1932 to 1960. He was admitted to the practice of law in all Courts of the State of New York.
