Benjamin P Roosa Jr, a lifetime resident of Dutchess County, graduated from Columbia University in 1953 and Albany Law School of Union University in 1957.

Ben has a varied general practice, practicing primarily in the fields of will, trusts and estates, elder law and estate planning. Ben also handles residential real estate, landlord/tenant, tax, corporate and business practice.

He can assist with your planning needs, from protecting your assets to helping you plan for your future. In addition, he can assist you and your family in the event of a loss of a loved one.

Ben is former Town attorney for the Town of East Fishkill NY (1958-1965), County Representative for the Town of East Fishkill (1972) and NYS Assemblyman for the 100th District (1973-1976).

Ben is an active member of the community, volunteering and rendering services to many charitable, religious and civic organizations.

He is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York. He is a member of the New York State and Dutchess County Bar Associations.


Elizabeth A Roosa, (Betsy Roosa) also a lifetime resident of Dutchess County, graduated from Vassar College in 1981 and Albany Law School of Union University in 1984.

Elizabeth has a broad range of general practice, practicing primarily in the fields of wills, trusts and estates, residential and commercial real estate, landlord/tenant, corporate and business practice.

Elizabeth has over 25 years of experience handling wills, trusts and estates including estate planning and administration, living trusts, living wills, powers of attorneys and health care related matters.

Elizabeth has handled acquisitions, sales and financing of residential, commercial and industrial development throughout the tri-state area, representing individuals, corporations, devlopers and lenders. Her practice ranges from a residential purchase, finance or sale to apartment complexes, shopping centers, hotels and industrial development. She has handled sales, acquisitions and tax structuring for many multi-million dollar transactions.

Elizabeth is a former member of the Town of Poughkeepsie Historic Preservation Board, former President of Vassar College Class of 1981 and a Board Member of the Dutchess County Chapter of the American Cancer Society "Step into Spring Committee". She has rendered legal services to numerous charitable, religious and civic organizations.

Elizabeth is an avid scuba diver. She is a lifetime member of the Aquatic Explorers Scuba Club and the New Hamburg Yacht Club.

She is admitted to practice in all Courts of the State of New York, US District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the US Supreme Court. She is a member of the New York State and Dutchess County Bar Associations.

Nancy Roosa Hilscher of counsel to the firm graduated from Dickinson College in 1983 and Albany Law School of Union University in 1988 (cum laude, Member Law Review).

Nancy is a partner in the law firm of Hilscher & Hilscher of Catskill, New York where she maintains a general law practice focusing on residential real estate, wills, elder care law, estate and probate, and general corporate matters.

She is former attorney with the Greene County Department of Social Services in Catskill, New York (1989-1991) where she handled Family Court and child support cases, conservatorship matters, evaluated Medicaid eligibility in Fraud and Resources Unit and elder care cases.

Nancy is a member of the New York State and Greene County Bar Associations.

Founder

Benjamin P Roosa (1903-1971) opened to law office on Main Street in Beacon NY in 1927 at our present location.

Judge Roosa was born in Beacon and graduated from Columbia University in 1925 and earned his law degree from Columbia University in 1927.

Ben was city Judge in the City of Beacon from 1932 to 1960.

He was admitted to the practice of law in all Courts of the State of New York.
